Recover Lost Asus Laptop Data

I have been using an Asus N61JQ which has not been working particularly well for me. I have been getting a lot of unfortunate crashes, and then yesterday, it suddenly went completely black in the middle of a game. It is still black now, because I have not turned it off. I can hear the music of the game in the background, but there is nothing on the screen. Usually when the crash happens, it goes into a Blue screen of death and then there is a Cache Dump of data. I don’t know what to do now, because this has not happened, and it has been a few hours since this occurred. Last time it happened, I ran a disk check against the system, and then got a lot of data back which I didn’t really understand. So I did nothing about the crashes. This time it seems like it might be permanent, and I have data on file that I want to keep

I have an Asus G46VW which has been used by me for several years now. I wanted to upgrade the hard drive by adding an external Samsung. However, although I have tried the migration technique which I have used on other systems successfully, it didn’t work this time, and I don’t have access to the external hard drive through Windows. However, what is even more worrying is that I am now not able to see the internal hard drive in BIOS. It had an AHCI setting, and it was working fine until I tried the migration. I have also put the external hard drive on other computers, and found that it works really well. However, when I removed the internal drive, I have noticed that it doesn’t work on the computers. This is a serious issue, because the internal drive has a lot of essential software that I need. I have tried to do a firmware update, which has not worked, and I have also tried to do a BIOS update, which also has not been successful.
